Georgia Baby Shower

This past weekend we traveled to Georgia for our first baby shower. I have to say, baby E is one loved little boy and we feel truly blessed to bring him into this world with such wonderful people around us. We are so amazed at everyones kindness.

We are so thankful for our friends and family that hosted the shower.

Pregnancy is 100% a blessing and a gift from The Lord. Many people have been curious about how I am feeling. I honeslty cannot complain!

Psalm 127:3
"Children are a hertiage from the Lord, and a reward from Him."

I am so thankful to become a mother and love on Baby E! With all of this being said, pregnancy comes with LOTS of changes (good and bad). Overall, I am thankful to have had a pretty easy pregnancy (so far). I was sick for about the first three weeks and have had the typical symptoms (food aversions, sleep issues, tummy issues, and maybe a little of the hormonal stuff). I know some women are able to excercise their entire pregnancy, but I had to change my workouts to simply walking the dog. I played tennis until I was in my 7th month, but my back began to really hurt. I have a few stretch marks, but nothing too terribly bad. I have used tons of the stretch mark oils and lotions, but I am not sure if they really work since stretch marks are hereditary. I am currently in my 31st week and have gained about 23 pounds. We want Baby E to keep cooking in there a little longer. We want our guy to be big and strong!

I know pregnancy is different for everyone, but I am truly grateful for how things have gone thus far. Only about 8 or so more weeks. We cannot wait to meet our little man.

Back to Blogging

Wow! I cannot believe I haven't blogged in over a year. Honestly, where does the time go? I had a great time looking back over my blog and all of the changes in my life over the last 4 years. I am thankful for where the Lord has me and all of the many lessons I have been taught along the way. I've really missed writing recently, and we have had lots of changes in our household, so hopefully I will share updates more frequently.

In July, 2013, we finally closed on our new home. We love being homeowners and our weekend house projects.

5 days after we moved into our new home, we found out are expecting a baby. This was a shock to us, but we are so thankful for the blessing growing inside of me. We are having a boy, and Baby E will be here at the end of March. We are so excited to meet the little guy. Matt is going to be the best daddy!

I plan to write about many different topics including pregnancy, being a mom, faith, marriage, house projects, etc. We shall see what I come up with. Happy Friday! I hope you all have a blessed weekend.

Oh the Blood...

If you are like me, you are feeling the burden of all of the sin in our world. So many things are leaving us confused and doubtful. There is so much sadness, and our need for a Savior is becoming more evident.

The song "Oh the Blood" by Gateway Worship is so encouraging to me during this tough time. I am trying to hold onto truth and focus on God's will for this world.
There is so much uncertainty, but I am certain of God's love and grace.

O the blood
Crimson love
Price of life's demand
Shameful sin
Placed on Him
The Hope of every man

O the blood of Jesus washes me
O the blood of Jesus shed for me
What a sacrifice that saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory

Savior Son
Holy One
Slain so I can live
See the Lamb
The great I Am
Who takes away my sin

O the blood of the Lamb
O the blood of the Lamb
O the blood of the Lamb
The precious blood of the Lamb
What a sacrifice
That saved my life
Yes, the blood, it is my victory

O what love
No greater love
Grace, how can it be
That in my sin
Yes, even then
He shed His blood for me

My conviction right now is to be more positive and focus on God's blessings in my life.

Isaiah 30:20-21

"20 Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. 21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

2 Corinthians 4:17

"17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I must say, Thanksgiving is my FAVORITE holiday. This year I have so much to be thankful for....

As many of you know, we have had a tough 2+ weeks. My brother and sister-in-law were visiting us in Florida and were in a bad car accident. They have been in the hospital 17 days and can FINALLY go home tomorrow (Wednesday). We are thankful to God for His promises and protection over them. Also, the miracle of no long term affects. This is truly a blessing. Although they are going to be okay, I am still having a tough time shaking the anxious feeling. I guess this just takes time. I am truly looking forward to some down time/normal time this holiday season (whatever this may be).

This verse has encouraged me:

Phillipians 4:11-13

"I don't say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content-whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me."

2012 has been such a wonderful year and I thought I would share all of the things I am thankful for.

I am thankful to know a loving God that fills me up with His grace and love even though I am undeserving.

I am thankful for Matt. He is such an amazing man and I am truly blessed. I love his heart and spirit. He makes me so happy.

Our engagement in January:

Our Wedding in July:

My parents (both my parents and my in-laws)

My Best Friend, Liz:

And my other amazing friends:

I am thankful for my new friends and Bible study girls here in Florida.

My Sweet Grandparents:

To name a few. :-) Thank you for all of the many prayers and love over the last couple of weeks. I feel truly blessed.

Have a great day!

House Projects

As many of you know, when you get married, you tend to have a great deal of mis matched furniture. I have been searching Pinterest for easy ideas to update furniture and was introduced to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. This paint is amazing. If you know me, you know I am not the most artistic or crafty person, so this paint has changed my life. :-)
I purchased the Duck Egg Blue Paint and the soft wax. The best part about this paint is there is no prep involved. No sanding or priming. It bonds to almost any surface! Here are some projects I have completed: The Lamp: Before
After a failed attempt at spray painting (remember, I am not crafty):
After sanding and applying Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
Finished Product (I am looking for a new lamp shade):
Kitchen Cart: Before
Book Shelf Before:
First Coat, no distressing or wax:
After distressing and wax:
I am going to be purchasing some other colors of this paint. I am trying to decide what I will paint next. :-) Have a great day! Kelly
